Introduction to Stop Motion

This is a blog around Stop Motion Animation, the history behind it, different techniques used and artists who have used it in there film's, videos, cartoons etc. To start with I'll explain the basic principles of Stop Motion Animation. Stop Motion Animations is a film making technique where the desired effect is to get a object to move on its own or bring something unrealistic into the real world without using CGI (Example the original King Kong movie).

The process is done by first taking a picture of what you want to move in its starting position and this is your first frame. You then move it a small amount ready for the next frame to be taken, This is repeated untill all the frame's desired are taken. Next is the process of Editing the frames together and this can be done with many different video making and editing softwares.

By the end you should have the desired effect of the object moving on its own.

Here is a couple of examples of stop motion animation
